Hi - just found out like many others that the iPhone 5 from 02 wont work on 4G because of the banwidth of 800mhz. I bought the phone on the premise it was 4G ready about 3 months ago. Anyone else think there is customer mis-selling going on here?

If you look at the 4G promise link in the post above yours you must agree they wouldn't have posted it unless the iPhone 5 was not suitable for 4G on O2, there was a thorough discussion about this here well before the phone was released.

You can switch your tariff to 4G if you want. The iPhone 5 handset won't work on it, but don't let that put you off!
In all seriousness, when the iPhone 5 came out O2, Vodafone, Three didn't know what slice of 4G spectrum they were going to get. The iPhone 5 doesn't work on all the different frequencies that were available.
Therefore O2 couldn't (and didn't) promise anyone that their iPhone 5 was going to work on 4G. They gave the (deliberately vague) answer of maybe, and also did the 4G price promise, that if the iPhone didn't work on 4G (which turned out to be the case) they would help you upgrade by taking 25% of the cost away.

You can use 4G with your I Phone 5, just not O2 4G

I'm looking to upgrade an iPhone 4 to a 4G phone and agree that O2 could be doing more to make it absolutly clear that the iPhone 5 is not a 4G phone. The current O2 store is still displaying 4G ready which is misleasding if it wont work with 4G.
