iPhone 5 not ready for 4G in the UK

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi - just found out like many others that the iPhone 5 from 02 wont work on 4G because of the banwidth of 800mhz. I bought the phone on the premise it was 4G ready about 3 months ago. Anyone else think there is customer mis-selling going on here?

Obviously not in the couple of years since it was released. Terrible to be honest!

Just completely incompetent !!
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

It's obviously down to lack of training but it should be basic knowledge in all honesty.

Strange because I'll bet they look at this Community.....I'm blocking this with Ghostery so they're pulling some data of this site :

I have recently changed my contract: O2 knew I had an iPhone 5 as I got it through them (I have been on O2 for many years).

WHY did O2 send me a 4G SIM when they know it won't work? I can't even get 3G signals so have to use the old SIM anyway!

All current sim cards sent by O2 are now 4G

They always send out a new sim.The 4G sim will work just the same for 3G but there is no need to change it if your old sim is working.
