iMessage on iOS 7 not working

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi

1st message so please be kind, I couldn't find a thread similar to this topic...

I updated to iOS 7 last night, and now I don't have access to iMessage from my telephone number.  It works with my gmail & iCloud email addresses but not on my phone number.

Plus it hasn't activated yet.  I love my iPhone 5 and it is doing my head in to get it sorted.  I have tried all the work arounds on the web that I can find (reset settings, turn off & on wifi and airplane mode).  Plus I have rebooted the phone.  Strangely I get this or something similar sent to me by text message every time I try to activate it.

The same thing is happening with my wife's iPhone 4 when updated to iOS 7.  I have called O2 couldn't get through as everyone is upgrading, therefore I contacted O2 via chat and they said it is a issue and will be resolved, when?

Does anyone what is going on or what to do?

This is from O2 Network services... it's definitely TU Go:

We’re investigating whether the issue may be caused by a service called TuGo. Can I ask you to try de-registering your TuGo service using the option in the application on your iPhone please, and then switching iMessage off and on again?

This worked for me...! Result!

It's definitely Not just TU Go. No such app installed here so it's a partial fix.

This has worked here on 2 iPhone 5's, 1 updated to iOS7 and 1 still on iOS6
Anyone been bold enough to re-install TuGo ??

Thank you Thank you Thank you. slight_smile After 4 hours of being on the phone with O2 and Apple unregistering from Tugo has fixed the problem for me. One happy guy. I might even have a beer now.

Cheers

Tugo wasn't installed on my iPhone. I have deactivated it on my iPad just to see if that made any difference but sadly no.
Been an O2 customer (off and on) since 1995

You need to delete the account not just sign out.

Ok ... So a big thank you to those advising to remove TU Go. Once I deleted the account, removed the App and reset the phone it appears that iMessage and Face Time have instantly activated.

I am not sure the issue is fully resolved - although I am sending iMessages and being Received from my phone number and not e-mail address anymore they appear to be arriving as standard SMS messages. This is despite the recipient being within a data area and getting other iMessages.

I shall try again in the morning with other friends and will update.
