Can someone send text messages from my phone remotely to look like they have come from me ? I have just noticed some replies to text messages but I know for definately I didnt send them.

Yes, it's possible via apps but you would of had to approve them first.

What phone / device are you using? Could these be iMessages from an iPad or iPod connected to your Apple account?

Mighty text is one that springs to mind and of course Whatsapp. iMessage if logged in on other devices etc but they all will send a verification text to the original number first.
If using an iPhone / iPad / Mac makes sure you pin / passcode protect the device to prevent unauthorised use.

 I'm guessing imessages. Any of the apps mentioned need a code to be sent to your mobile number so don't be alarmed at all about them.
