can only hear calls if phone is on loudspeaker

hi i need help my phone when recieving or making calls unless on loudspeaker u cant hear a thing, but the speakers work and all the musin plays all is fine other than this can someon please help

Check for dirt . lint in the headphone socket try inserting headphone a few times.

Have you done a basic reset of the iphone?

Have you tried a reset hold the power and home buttons together until the apple logo appears otherwise sounds like you may need to get apple to have a look at it as it may be an earpiece problem

If it's a new iPhone make sure you have removed the in transit front screen shield.

If you have affixed a protective screen shield then make sure it's not covering the speaker.

Ensure the volume is turned up when your in a call by using the rocker switch on the side of the iPhone. 

Try - settings - general - reset - reset all settings.

If you feel a trip to the Apple store is needed then make an appointment first via their genius bar tab in the Apple UK home page
