Unlocking iphone from O2 to use on another network

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have been trying to leave o2 for over 2 weeks. I am now in my 3rd "72 hours" wait. I have been sent a link on how to get my iphone unlocked, but it is just taking me round in cricles. Does anyone know exactly HOW to unlock an iphone from O2, please?

I have my new sim card but cannot use it on the iphone, and all I am getting from O2 is a link that says "go to this link" and on and on it goes.

Thank you

Spoken to them

They have disconennected my phone, so I am in limbo. Can't use phone, can't get texts , can't unlock. My new provider have had me already up and running, but cannot receive texts from them to get going, as ..you guessed it- phone still locked by O2

The one saving grace in this is that you don't need an o2 network connection to unlock an iPhone.

It's done on Apple's servers so once you get the email (if ever) just put your new sim in and away you go.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

They did that to me aswell still trying to get it unlocked I had to go to o2 store and transfer my number to a different sim and then request the unlock but still keep saying wait another 72hours. Manager still hasn't rang me back and the escalation team are useless they saif wait 72 hours then we can send an unlock request so a minimim of 6 day wait for me again to see if they can do their job correctly

There does seem to be an unlocking issue at the moment.... you can only keep chasing them I'm afraid.
