Sync Calendars - Remove Duplicates

Hi all,

I don't know if this is possible but i'll ask anyway.

I have 3 Hotmail email accounts on my iPhone and I sync most of the calendars.  The annoying thing is that some are duplicates - such as birthdays or appointments.  But the problem is the entries are various and not just duplicated from one of my email accounts so I can't go into the Calendar app and remove the sync of one particular calendar.

I also sync my Facebook events and my Birthdays calendar to my iPhone.

The duplicates are mostly birthdays - such as the ones already on my phone from when I added a contact and the Facebook birthdays and the Hotmail birthdays.  Is there a way to hide duplicates or link events?

I have tried to remove duplicates from my phone but then it syncs again and the duplicates come back.

I hope someone can help me. Shocked

Hi.

I've personally not come across a 'hide duplicates' option.

The only option I know if is going into settings and the mail , contacts ,calendars and tab open the individual account and toggle on and off mail calendars , reminders and contacts etc for that individual one.

I use 4 email addressees on mine but only use a yahoo account as a main one.

I chose not to sync with Facebook as it's too messy in my opinion.

I only really sync Facebook for the events and not birthdays but I turned it off and I still had duplicates.

I guess it is my own fault for putting different events in different email accounts.

I was thinking about going through my email accounts one by one and deleting duplicates individually and hopefully it will sync to my iPhone and iPad and I won't have anymore duplicates.

It'll take some time and it may not work but it's worth a try.  I'll let you know if it works.

Sorry @Toby i've only just seen this message.

I'm still going through my calendars on my email accounts when I get a chance to do it.

When it's done, i'll give it a few days and then i'll update you on this post.

*fingers crossed*

I ended up having to choose to only sync 2 of the accounts as it was too much messing switching the calendar entries between the emails.
