O2UK wifi code texts

Why have I received 4 texts (and counting) in the past 10 mins with a wifi code?
Never had a text from them before except my monthly bill.

Never seen that before unless you have been near a O2 wifi hotspot and the phone has tried to connect. These texts are automated so it could simply be in error.

Thanks for the reply. Live in a remote part of the UK and now have had 6 different codes sent to me today - having never had one before wondered if it was spam.

Would be surprised if there are so many so close. I'm also in my own wifi range at the moment.

I'll switch off my 'Ask to join networks' in wifi and hope they stop.

Sounds like a glitch 😞

I wonder if someone's trying to activate O2 Wifi in their phone and putting the wrong number in - your number? Could be why you've had multiple codes, they dont get a code so keep resubmitting the (wrong) number unwittingly?
