Hi @Anonymous It may be that you have had to do a manual search for the network as you said. This is no problem. I go to Spain frequently and my usual network is Movistar. I still have to search. It doesn't connect automatically as quickly as I would like
You may find tomorrow you have another selection of networks to chose from..

O2-de has always been the best for me in Germany. Mind you that's around the Berlin area. To be honest, in all the years I've been going there, different phones have always latched onto it automatically. As long as you are able to select an alternate network manually for data then it's more a case of annoyance than a problem.

@Anonymous Try turning of 4G in the settings and letting your phone roam on 3G and 2G only,
When I was last in Germany I got no Data while on o2-de 2G but was fine on 3G. I got internet on other networks fine as well.
