Hi all,
Will be travelling to Mauritius on Honeymoon in a months time.
Want to try an avoid all charges other than whats nessecary via my monthly bill.
I have an Iphone 5c
Whats the best way to do this? Turn off data roaming? Leave it in Airplane mode for the entire trip ?
The resort im staying in has free wifi so obviously id like to use this and the phones camera functionality when i get the chance.
Thanks all

Hi @Anonymous
Definitely use WiFi wherever you go....Keep data roaming turned off as much as possible
You can keep in touch with family by using skype, or messenger all over Wifi...A couple of help links here

You need to turn off mobile/cellular data as well as data roaming.
Switch off voicemail before leaving the UK. If you have TuGo you can use it over wifi in Mauritius to use your allowances for calling back to the UK. Voicemail can be switched off within the app.
I always use Whatsapp, Messanger, Line and Viber when overseas. All free over wifi although the person you are contacting needs to have it installed as well. Most people have at least one of them.
....and congratulations on your forthcoming marriage, have a great honeymoon
