I have just got a new Mercedes EQA and have set up all the services, internet in car etc. and connected my car via the Mercedes me app.
Using over Wi-Fi I can access all the features of the app, connect to the car with no issues. However if I only have mobile data 4G or 5G then the app will not connect to the car at all until I’m back on Wi-Fi.
Mobile data is enable in settings for the Mercedes me app.
Tested with putting my daughters EE SIM in my phone and suddenly all works fine over mobile data so my IT incident management background would make me point the finger in the O2 Networks direction.
I'm using an iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Has anyone got any suggestions or having the same issue?

Potentially some positive news, it maybe something the developer needs to sort.

I have exactly the same problem that began several weeks ago. My local dealer had no idea until I got them to use Google. I contacted Mecedes Me support and they admitted there was a problewm but havent come back with a solution. I left a poor review on the Google Play and the IOS app thing and the developers got back pretty quickly admitting there was a problem. It seems that the solution might lie with O2 but trying to get in touch with them impossible as they are well defended by useless "bots"

The problem is not unique to o2, it has happened to a number of other Networks, (a quick google indicates so) so seems like as others have said Mercedes need to fix the app, and remove what ever they did to break it.

Possible solution:
O2 techies suggested a work around. It worked. I installed a VPN service and with VPN switched on, the app is now performing over the mobile network. I tried this on both an Android and IOS platform and in each case it worked.
i slso have a mail from Mercedes Me developers admitting the issue and telling me they are working on it,

Excellent. VPN solution works for me - using NordVPN. Thanks

I have an EQC and have exactly the same problem. Works OK on Wifi but get connection error over mobile data. It’s only occurred recently as it used to work before.

It is something you will have to wait for Mercedes to fix, or use the work around as others have suggested.
