Sir Jonathan Ive, more widely known as Jony Ive is to leave Apple to set up his own venture with Apple being one of his clients.

Hmmmm, I wonder if Tim Cook turned down his latest pay rise request?

At least this way he can write his own cheques.

Yes you may have something there @Anonymous 

It is always a problem to higher management when "your"

cheque becomes very large, they break out in spots or cold

sweats

He’s a good designer & the layouts & iOS designs he has created are nice.

@viridis @Possibly a new iOS interface will be introduced then as they won’t be able to use his designs without paying him big money

So he might have them over a barrel (of Apple Cider of course)

Nothing to stop him offering these back to them for a large slice of that cash pile Cook is sitting on.

It'll depend if Apple wants to pay what he wants to charge.

They might end up back on the ropes as they were in the 90s if they don't.
