Following on from the extensive iPhone 5 pre-orders thread which contains very useful information regarding other community members experiences (and lies) regarding their iPhone 5 delivery I and others thought it time we had a factual thread containing just the relevant information to help people, like me, still waiting for their new device!
So please post just the basic factual information:
1/ The date the phone was ordered.
2/ The method of ordering - By Phone to Customer Services/Upgrades/Business/Retentions or Online or in person in an O2 Shop
3/ Model of phone - Colour and Size.
4/ Current Status - Awaiting Allocation, In progress, Despatched, Delivered!
Please post the information regardless of when those lucky people who already have their phones actually received them and those of us who are STILL waiting can repost with any updates they have following chats with Guru's CS and others (but please keep it brief). Once you have posted that you have received your phone please do not repost the same information. Hopefuly this will keep the thread brief and factual and become a good resource for others over the next few weeks as clearly ringing O2 achieves nothing!
Let me kcik things off:
1/ Ordered 21st September 7.10am
2/ Via Business Retentions over the phone
3/ White 32GB
4/Awaiting Allocation - STILL after 4 weeks and 4 days!

Have you tried O2 Twitter? They seem to be able to have access to accounts and may be able to help more.

Twitter does help that much, just another avenue to vent frustration. They were not able to tell me anything different to the chat or telephone people.
Clearly they need to sort out their stories as it's not first come first served as this chat proves. The thread shows a bias towards new personal customers and against existing business users.

Well it's been a week since I logged an official complaint and 6 weeks since i placed my order, and as I am being made no clearer as to when I will have my phone I have cancelled my order today and joined t-mobile. I ordered through carphone warehouse and can expect my phone no later than next Tuesday. They said O2 were buying handsets from them as they couldn't get hold of any but still doesn't explain why business customeare we're not allocated any handsets.
really disappointed with O2 and have been a customer for a number of years now. Lets hope t-mobile offer a better service!

1/ Ordered 21st September 7.40am
2/ Via Business Retentions over the phone
3/ Black 16Gig
4/ Awaiting Allocation
This is a joke. I ordered this crappy phone over a month and a half ago. Still yet to receive it.
I have no idea what O2 think they are playing at. But this is just not good enough. At all.

Guys the quickest way to do is reserve one on apple website for collection in a apple store. They send a mail same day. Next day when you go they will process the contract for your network and issue the phone. I tried to reserve at apple store Cambridge for white iphone 5. 32 gb and it was reserved for pick up next day . I cancelled and ordered on Friday with EE for 4G and recieved hand set on Monday

I finally gave up waiting (over 7 weeks) and cancelled my order for the 16GB black Iphone 5 through O2 business. I went into my local O2 store and upgraded through them instead for a white 32GB phone which I collected then and there. i really wish i did that from the start!
