Trouble Acquiring O2 Settings

Anonymous
Not applicable

I've had an iPhone4s for a while, but recently realised that I never activated internet or picture messaging on it, and when I try to look at past messages that O2 have sent me, it's just blank so I can't get the details that way. When I text MMS to 1010, it says the service is only available to iPhone customers (which obviously I am), and when I text ACTIVE to 2020 to get the settings again, I get a text saying they had problems dealing with my request. So, how can I get my settings so that I can use internet and send picture messages?
Thanks in advance.

If all else fails take the iPhone into a 02 Guru to set it up for you.

Copy the settings below if you have a standard data bolt on. If you have an idata bolt on then change the APNs to idata.o2.co.uk. Use letter 'o' not zero.

I think you dial 1010 for iPhone although not sure of the keyword.

• Tap Settings > General > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Network

• Under the Mobile Data area, tap APN and enter the correct APN:

          o iPhone Tariffs (Pay Monthly & Business) - idata.o2.co.uk

          o Non iPhone Tariffs - mobile.o2.co.uk

          o Pay & Go Tariffs - payandgo.o2.co.uk

 • Tap Username and enter vertigo

• Tap Password and enter password

• Finally Switch the phone off and then back on.

Well hope this helps.

I've tried changing the APN things before, and just retried it now. It doesn't seem to fix it, I still can't access the internet and get the same responses from 1010 and 2020.

Did you reboot the phone after changing the settings?

Try a hard reset by holding the home and sleep buttons till the Apple logo appears (about 10 secs) and then release and let the phone boot up again.

I think I will have to do that. I tried doing a hard reboot after changing the settings and still nothing has changed. Thank you anyway.
