HELP! iphone 4 email set up

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hiya,

I'm hoping some kind soul can help me please.  I have the iphone 4 and am just trying to set up the email account.  I went into 'Mail' and chose 'Other' and then entered my lineone account information along with the IMAP account information for incoming mail and the smtp information for the outgoing mail.

However it came up with an error message reagrding SSL and I said 'yes' and when it came up again I said 'No'.   I'm now getting emails up to the 22nd October but nothing afterwards and I've tried testing email but nothing is coming in.

It came up with a message saying to check account information but I checked this and reckon its correct.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Lorna

The settings are below but as Adam says, try deleting the account and rebooting before setting it up again. You could also try the smtp.o2.co.uk outgoing server.

Loginusername@lineone.net
Incoming email (IMAP) imap.lineone.net
Incoming email (POP3)pop3.lineone.net
Outgoing email (SMTP)smtp.lineone.net

Thank you both very much. I deleted the account and then reentered the lineone settings which you mentioned and it worked perfectly!

Sorry I have just realised that it is accepting incoming emails but wont send outgoing emails. The error message I am getting is:-
The connection to the outgoing server "smtp.lineone.net" failed. Additional Outgoing mail servers can be configured at......

I tried the o2 one aswell but it doesnt appear to be working either. Any suggestions?

You could try setting it up as a microsoft exchange account rather than 'other'.

For the server use m.google.com and leave domain blank.

Ignore any error message and choose to continue.

I've set up google and apple account emails using this on the iphone.
