Data usage

Can anyone help I seem to be sailing through my data allowance. and don't know why I've

turned off all the notification for apps and location. I only go on facebook but not a lot perhaps 3 times a day for about 10 mins. I don't down load anything! I play WWF about twice a day for 10 minutes. And check my emails semi-frequently and I always make sure that my WIFI is on when I get into the house. Might do a google search once or twice a day. But I had to up my data allowance on my new contract to 1gb now that seems to be gone in a week to 10days now had to add bolt on and up to 2GB.  I cant understand why I am using so much. O2 cant help just tell me its Internet usage! My daughter is on her Iphone with O2 and only had 500MB allowance she definitely goes on it more than me. Has anyone got any tips to saving date usage.

Thanks

if running ios7 look in settings> mobile / cellular> scroll down to see what is using the data.

you can reset it on your billing day

You need to find out what is using your data before you can control it. iOS7 has an in built data tracker so check which apps are using the most.

Hi

Right am looking their atm and it says the most data used is Personal Hotspot??? and DNS Services ??? don't know what either of them are tbh, also push notifications and security services. Have no clue as to what they are and the last highest one says,  Web (secure).

Please do you know what these are so I can limit using them or turn them off.

So kind of you, thanks.

Personal hotspot is if your tethering your phone to a laptop or tablet.

Push notifications are e mails sent from your server directly to your phone.

You can change these to fetch and set how long between each time the phone checks if e mail available or set it to manually.

Settings - mail, contacts, calendar - fetch new data.

Push is at the top and toggle it off and then set it to fetch or manual.

Personal hotspot is in settings and I think it's near mobile / cellular.
Toggle it off.

A pay monthly customer has this as part of their contract.

Just toggle it to off.

What mb is it saying has been used ?

If it's high and you haven't used it then speak to O2 on 202 to check your account out.
If it's an error they can reinstate the used data.
