Having a problem whereby I cannot receive texts from certain numbers on my iPhone. I can send to everyone and they get delivered, I can make and recieve calls from everyone, just about half of my contacts texts are not coming through.
Also iMessage has stopped working. Some of the people I can't receive from are on Blackberrys and other types of phones though, so I shouldn't have thought that is the problem.
Things I have already done:
I rang o2, the lady was helpful and said she could see these texts I hadn't received on the system, but were just not coming through the network to me, she seemed to have no idea why or how to fix it.
She said she'd send another sim card, but she didn't sound very confident that would work at all, as the sim itself seems to be in perfect working order.
My phone is not jailbroken, or anything like that. It just suddenly started happening on sunday and I didn't realise until monday when I spoke to a couple of people who were surprised I didn't text back.
I get perfect network coverage in my area pretty much all the time, have been with o2 since the BT cellnet days and have never had a problem up until now.

thats good, just get o2 to give you a new micro sim then do the sim swap

New sim card today, same problem.
Reset the phone to factory settings again before I put the new sim in, just to make sure.
Certain numbers I still cannot receive text messages from.
Another sim card from someone else works perfectly in my phone, my new sim card has the same problem in 2 different handsets.
o2 over the phone seem at a loss.
They say it 'should' work, according to their technical team, so as far as they can tell there is nothing they can advise me on.
I don't see how this can be, all advisors I have spoke to clearly said that they can see the messages are waiting to be sent to me, but for some reason are not getting through the network.
Surely this is something technical at their end, I don't see how it can be the sim or the handset at this point having covered almost all variables with that.

After more chatting with o2 over the phone last night, again have the same diagnosis that it must be the sim card or the handset. They say they've done all they can with my account at their end.
I've now tried a second new card, again, the issue is the same.
o2 are simply saying it must be a problem with either the sim or the handset, as the network isn't showing any problems.
I just fail to see how a third sim card now wouldn't work with the same issue a sim that came out of a sealed packet. Again, someone else's sim card works perfectly in this handset whilst mine with yet another new sim card does not work in a known perfectly working handset.
This really is so frustrating, to top that my girlfriend thinks I am getting her texts and I think she's pretty pee'd off etc.
I've booked an o2 guru in the shop tomorrow, hopefully will have some luck. Unfortunately, if not, over a decade over ties with o2 will have to come to an end for me.
Thanks for the help though guys here on the forum.
