So towards the end of last year I bought a refurbished phone from GiffGaff because mine had sadly broke.
The phone I bought I was told was blacklisted and after a while i was informed it was no longer blacklisted and it did work with my new SIM Card (note my old SIM card I tried was O2 and my new was Three).
Now I’ve upgraded over Christmas I have decided during covid to try and get some extra cash, I have tried to sell to Handtec and they have told me it’s still blacklisted and due to UK law they will not send it back or grant me the money.
This is understandable but I have been told it’s blacklisted to O2 even tho I bought from GiffGaff, can I get this lifted by O2?

Giffgaff is owned by O2's parent Telefonica.
Sounds like someone has blacklisted as a lost stolen device or tried to do an insurance claim against your IMEI
I would recommend having a look on checkmend (it does cost £2) and this will then give you a report which will show exactly where the blacklist is.
You will then need to contact GiffGaff im afriad, as they sold you the handset.
I do not work for o2 or any VMo2 /Telefonica/Liberty Global Company
