Apple releases iOS 7.0.5 with minor bug fixes

"In fact, what the change log says is that the update is only available for certain models of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c sold in China—meaning many won’t see it. It corrects network provisioning for the handset…"

"Update: while we are not seeing iOS 7.0.5 here in the US, we are getting reports that users in Germany, the UK and Croatia are. So despite what the above change log says, it appears that it’s not limited to just China.

I love it, even the fingerprint scanner which I was determined not to like!

Awesome is it not.

I have two sets of scans imputed for the same thumb to help stop any unlocking failure.

Hey BoB,

What do you mean by 2 scans for the same thumb? I've not heard of somone doing this yet haha.

I assume this is your thumb form 2 different angles?

I must admit, I've been pleasantly surprised by how easy the scanner is to use and calibrate when I've tested it.

According to the release notes the scanner is supposed to learn your finger print.

Some people after a period of time have had to delete their scans and insert fresh ones.

I've taken scans of the same thumb twice and stored them.

This way if it fails to recognise one it will hopefully recognise the 2nd.

I've had no issues with this and nor has it Confused the iPhone. It just flicks from one print to the other to allow unlocking it buying apps through iTunes.

Good idea BoB - i'll have to try that - it's annoying when it comes up 'try again' because it doesn't recognise my thumb

It's just normally skin oils and everyday things that you get on your hands that can confuse the sensor.

I may get the 'try again' message a couple of times a week if at all.

I get that 'try again' message a couple of times a day.

I'm sure it's beginning to forget my fingerprint - weird considering the amount of times I use it lol

I've scanned both thumbs and an index finger and I also got my husband to scan his finger just in case he ever needs to use the phone!

My friend scanned his dog's nose!
