5 iPhone and iPad charging myths debunked.

"We’ve all heard a lot of charging myths. “Don’t keep your iPhone plugged in throughout the night,” “Don’t talk on the phone while it’s charging,” “Let the phone completely discharge, and only then put it back on charging” and so on. But how many of these are valid points, and how many are just myths? Let’s find out."

My thoughts :

I've heard lots of advice in connection to charging iDevices, and references to charging accessories.

In the link is some good sound advice for owners of iPhones, iPads etc.

Got to partly disagree with the Charge your iPhone only after it discharges completely. While I wouldnt advise discharging it completely on every charge. I do say its beneficial to completely discharge it once a month.

For example. Sometimes, if I have not completely discharged my battery for a while, when my iPhone gets down to say 10-15 % the battery percentage can drop significantly, even when its not used.

Now if I completely discharge the battery, then charge, this issue goes away.

Also, the completely discharging the battery once per month is recommended by Apple, see this link:

See the “Use Your iPad Regularly” section, I know its for the iPad, but the same battery type is used in both iPhone and iPad slight_smile

It says:

“For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down)”

That’s what I find too.
