I found the easiest way is to connect the phone to the PC and drag the file into the notifications folder.

Quite a few ways to do this.
Download from playstore - https://play.google.com/store/search?q=sms+tones&c=apps
Use Zedge and download to phone - http://www.zedge.net/ringtones/5734/samsung-i9300-galaxy-s-iii-ringtones/0-1-1/?sug-search=0&searchc...
Drag to SD card
Bluetooth etc.

When downloading n setting a notification sound. You have to then go to the APP you want to play that sound, theen openenue n settings. Then notification sounds and then u set the sound u want (u get 2 choices... android sound or a zedge sound. Select JUST ONCE or u may have a prob changing it again.

As i'd already moved sound from old phone to new one i didn't need to use Zedge but least i can look there for wallpapers or other stuff ....hooked phone up to laptop & moved it from one folder to another & hey presto when i went to choose text sound it was in the list hehe thanks again jonsie

Thanks Jonsie. I had this problem too and was able to send the text tone I wanted into the notifications folder (using Windows Explorer) and it worked a treat. Thanks again.
