Why does any text message I send always say 'pending' never read etc? I have an LG K10 2017

The most common reasons are

 

 

  • Phone out of credit and cannot receive SMS.
  • Phone number active but phone switched off or out of range.
  • Active pre-paid account but SIM not in phone.
  • Network problems
  • So check network status here https://status.o2.co.uk/

O2 don't provide delivery reports so the software in phones is incompatible with network requests.
If you type *0# at the beginning of your text you can force a response from the network though.

You get a delivery report but never a read report. Not sure any network provide that. EE automatically give a delivered notification but I've no idea about other Networks
