s3 4.3 update

I was one of the 'lucky' people to catch the upgrade to 4.3. 

I've now disabled the smartstay & have been rebooting my phone after i have made any use of the GPS - this is keeping the battery life ok, but I still get dropouts when playing media files & the wake up is occasionally sluggish.

I'd be interested to know if anyone has heard any info other than the comment from samsung that they are investigating.

I'm undecided whether to reset my phone back to 4.1.2, although I have no idea how to do it, if it's going to be months until a fix then I guess it would be worth doing. Anyone heard ANYTHING? I'm not at all interested to hear about disgruntled users - these things happen & I'm sure the poor overworked developers are doing everything than can to fix the faults the test team failed to spot.

Thanks, I'll wait for the full firmware. I've been checking OTA every few hours but nothing is there, I'll hold off until next week to avoid GMJ6 I think!!

I'm on CSC I930002UEMC1 too, so that means it's a branded one and means the update isn't imminent?

 

I'm really tempted to try a CyanogenMod nightly for 4.4 on the S3... but I'm worried about my warranty... http://www.zdnet.com/cyanogenmod-releases-android-4-4-firmware-for-galaxy-s3-htc-one-and-others-7000... tempting....

Yes O2 branded and as soon as O2 are happy with the update they will release it.

 

You can flash any ROM you like which "technically" voids warranty although there have been court cases where this has been challenged and won, however, Samsung have never bothered but O2 might?

Anything you do ROM wise is reversible as long as you don't flash the 4.3 bootloader which has KNOX in it. Once this is on your phone you are stuffed for anything other than stock ROM's.

MK6 now released as a complete ROM for unbranded phones so anyone still on 4.1.2 will be getting the full 4.3 upgrade now.

not out for mine yet, dunno when and if i will see it ?? My phone would appear to be not a normal UK one going by the CSC number I9300XXEMG3 .
