hi
I have a problem with a GPS in my galaxy s4. Can not find the location. Today in the living O2 guy told me that the GPS will not work without enabled mobile date which is total bull**bleep**! Even once he was in Servisi and nothing was done. What should I do?

Hi
I bought the phone to o2 pay monthly. For the first month I checked the GPS worked great. But after a month it stopped working. I've been to 02 of this issue. They sent the phone for repair. Phone came with the new software and note that fixed. But GPS is still not working. Yesterday was the second time to complain and the guy said that the bad use GPS. He says that I have to be turned on mobile data to the GPS function. This is not true! Phone with GPS module can function without mobile telephony coverage. I checked the GPS applications to test his work. Unfortunately, the phone does NOT able to connect to any satellite. Tests done many times outside under a clear sky. Even for an hour the phone was unable to find the location. All I have included in the settings. Please help me. Sorry for spelling and mistakes. I do not come from England.

If the data connection is off, even if the phone technically knows where it is, will it be able to access any map etc to actually plot those co-ordinates anywhere? For what purpose are you trying to locate yourself on GPS? If it is to look at Google maps for example, I thought the map itself was downloaded by mobile data, and not installed on the phone?

If your device is GPS and working properly should easily determine your location. Just like any satellite navigation. Do not need a mobile network. I use GPS on my galaxy in the car. I am using Sygic Navigation maps. I have them saved on the SD card in the phone and I can use them off-line.

Agreed. You do no need mobile data in any form to get a lock.
You definitely still have a faulty phone, it has to go back again as they have not resolved the issue.
Maybe ask them for a replacement this time.
In most indoor locations you should also be able to get a lock these days, not like the older equipment where you needed to sit outside for 5 mins
