faulty s4 drops signal

Anonymous

I have a s4 just back from Samsung who have tried to fix it as o2 refused to help me I'm not being funny or awkward but they just failed to help fix my problem i even went into a o2 shop in carlislel to ask for a new sim and was told I couldn't have one as that would not be the cause of the problem. So here's the problem phone just regularly drops signal even in good reception areas.girlfriend has exactly the same phone on same 02 contract and me and hers can be showing full bars and my will be displaying no service. Have tried running phone in safe mode ie no installed apps running and it's no different.lost count how many times I've tried restarts factory resets it's been flashed and no better.samsung not much better than o2.will never own another Samsung and will be leaving o2 as soon as I can afford to pay my contract off.it has also been repaired once by O2 as it stopped charging as well.it was returned charging again but came back with small damaged marks on it.i just find it disgusting that im paying £32 a month for a phone that does not work.

Yes have tried that and phone was just the same .It has just come back from Samsung who replaced two parts so they said but it's just the same .I've heard the next thing will be to replace the motherboard.had a s2 before and it was so much better than this.Phone Was Fine Until The 4.3 Update Had Wifi Issues As Well Thankfully That Is Now Resolved But the dropping signal is the real pain.

Hi,

If you requested a simswap then I cannot fathom why they said no.

Its worth doing this as a process of elimination.

I would go back and just ask for an account specific blank sim card and d the swap at home via http://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/

I assume you have checked your service status to check your signal here http://status.o2.co.uk/

Is the phone unlocked to all networks. I ask because you could try another networks sim in it to see if signal returns etc. Again a process of elimination.

The unlock is free for contract customers and can be requested via https://www.o2.co.uk/apps/help/help?qid=1&q1=2&route=unlocking&case=Handset%20Unlocking%20Form

Here is a good trouble shooting guide written by another member http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/Self-help-guide-Is-the-network-down-for-me-or-ev...

Sim cards are free. Why would they refuse to give you one?

You can prove if it's a sim issue or not by trying your girlfriends sim in your phone.
If it works OK with her sim go back to the store with this as evidence.

It beggars belief that you were refused a sim card when replacing the sim is one of the first steps normally advised by customer service.
