Hello.
Can an O2 employee confirm the day that the Z1 will ship out? (Not to be confused with the release date)
Thanks

With what I have seen the last two days, I won't put anything past O2. If I were you, I would call them. Don't even bother with the web chat

As far as I was aware the Lens is issued via a card and you fill it in and send back to Sony. Thats what an operator told me on the phone last week. Said to make sure i filled it in and sent it back immediately as the first 2,500 into Sony get the limited stock.
FARCE
Also I have no 3G at all on my phone, and typically no phone after being sent a message that it had been dispatched on Monday.
Very poor service, my new traffif has kicked in and all... yet I cant use the data on it!
As I live in NI I expect to get it next Tuesday if being released/shipped on Friday... meaning that the Lens quota should be all gone by the time they get my card!
Think I might canacel O2 all together, wait til the start of Oct until my contract totally runs out and go elsewhere. Next week is unacceptable after sending me a message that it has been dispatched, charging me for the privilage, and must likely not being able to get the Sony lens card back intime as I live in NI.
So much for early pre -orders.

"This is what i feared.
A friend told the the other day he has never ever received these free items with any preorder with Phones.
He went to EE in the end got a better deal and GOT the free items sent with the Phone. No voucher lottery gamble nonsense.
So i will probably goto CPW preorder on EE and get the watch, prefer the Lens but you wont even get that from O2 it seems?"
I have checked order and it show's it being shipped also have read the terms and conditions and yes it's a limited 2500 pre-orders but no need to send in a card:
so it looks to me like a Lens will be shipped not a voucher - if they do trading standards could get involved as in the T&C's there's no mention of a voucher so it could be seen as miss-selling.
On another note - got the email showing it's been dispacted but no idea where it is ...

Just spoke with a woman on the phone from O2.
A card is actually issued with the Phone for the lens in pre orders. You go to a web address and then get the lens dispatched. So seems like it is tied to the phones on pre order.
The Z1 handset is on "Back Order" I was told, so they do not actually have the stock. They are awaiting it for the release date of 20th. Then it will be dispatched on that date. I was one of the first to sign up for the pre orders so will be one of the first dispatched. Nothing has been dispatched from O2, no matter what you hear.
So dispatch on Friday, get phone Monday/Tuesday in Northern Ireland.
On a side note, the woman I spoke to has only taken 2 orders this yesterday for the Z1, compared to 20 for the new iPhone.
Should be plenty of Lenses to go around in that case!
The email that everyone got is from the new Refresh, automated system. Once you sign the forms online, it automatically sends out the dispatch no etc even though the phone is on pre oreder. Seems the system does not allow for phones that are not in stock... Seems like a screw up O2.

Given that it actually made a UK Mail consignment number and added that to my order ... monumental screw up.
