Hello.

 

Can an O2 employee confirm the day that the Z1 will ship out? (Not to be confused with the release date)

I got the same dispatch and tracking info. Called uk mail and they said the package had been recalled by O2. Spoke to customer services and they said it had been sent out early and recalled. They were unsure when I would receive it on the 20th and that's as much as they could give me. Absolutely useless and majorly hacked off!!!

oh so o2 sent them out too early and had to recall them? that would explain the emails we got and now misinformation. ive got a horrible feeling that us o2 preorder customers are going to be the last people to actually get this phone....

I have been with o2 for ten years and my experience purchasing a new phone direct from o2 has always been largely negative. The usual hurdle is that they don't do the good android handsets (i.e. motorolas) and when you ring for a good deal they fob you off with refurb iPhones. Another problem is that o2 direct works out £120 more expensive (over 2 years) than going with a small reseller that will pass some of the commission onto you (see xperia z deals), unfortunately early upgrade means o2 direct for me. You use to be able to get through to them on the phone instantly but this time I had to hang up after 10 minutes and that was the uograde hotline! As you can tell I've had enough of o2 and this is just the problems related to getting a new phone!

Lack of and incorrect communication is pretty much standard fair with O2 but you get used to it wink

Morning guys, 

Just signed up to reply to this as i've been going through the same woes.

 

Got the same dispatch email on Monday, spoke to UKMail who dont have the package etc.

O2 Live Chat first told me that the order had already dispatched at their end, so i told them that UKMail didnt have it etc. He then went away to check with the Warehouse team, who confirmed that nothing has been dispatched yet. "We'll be dispatching it from Friday" was his response, so i questioned him on the website preorder which (still) says that it will be delivered on Friday.

He made it sound like they didnt have the phones yet, "we'll recieve stock from Sony very close to launch date", but then 2 messages later said "we're holding our dispatch team", as if they are stopping them being sent out.

 

I then called customer services - as im being billed for this now that it has been marked as dispatched on their system. The guy on the phone was helpful, but said there was nothinghe could do to ensure i get it by launch date - as per the websites promise. All he has done is sent an email to the warehouse for me to see what they can do - which is probably nothing.

After complining about the billing, he did credit me with a week on my next bill.

But, it doesnt look like anything is being sent out until Friday - which is incredibly frustrating!

We all know why we're so frustrated, O2 mucked up big sending that email out so early, but you have to remember that the phone's are slated for delivery on the 20th.

 

UKMail operates a Next-Day delivery shceme, which means the phones can be picked up as late as tomorrow,  and they'll still be on schedule. Nobody should be fretting that they won't be receiving their order until next week yet, at least not until tomorrow.

Well I have called them and spoke to a nice chap. They still don't have the phones in stock. I explained my woes with their live chat and he apologised. Seems the phone support is great while the live chat people are just useless. That's the joy of outsourcing. I have cancelled my pre-order which wasn't a problem as the phones have not been shipped yet. I will be buying it outright through Sony. Should have done that in the first place, seeing how I work for them. Shame on me!

Hi

On the topic of the Z1, if i order this today at 3pm roughly will i still get the free lens?

I see they are subject to stock, so does this mean i can order a Z1 and O2 turn around and say they have run out after i have signed up?
