Lack of and incorrect communication is pretty much standard fair with O2 but you get used to it

Hum I don't know if I want to get used to that lol. I am with Vodafone and I know lots of people have problems with them, but I never had. Better the devil you know sometimes...

Morning guys,
Just signed up to reply to this as i've been going through the same woes.
Got the same dispatch email on Monday, spoke to UKMail who dont have the package etc.
O2 Live Chat first told me that the order had already dispatched at their end, so i told them that UKMail didnt have it etc. He then went away to check with the Warehouse team, who confirmed that nothing has been dispatched yet. "We'll be dispatching it from Friday" was his response, so i questioned him on the website preorder which (still) says that it will be delivered on Friday.
He made it sound like they didnt have the phones yet, "we'll recieve stock from Sony very close to launch date", but then 2 messages later said "we're holding our dispatch team", as if they are stopping them being sent out.
I then called customer services - as im being billed for this now that it has been marked as dispatched on their system. The guy on the phone was helpful, but said there was nothinghe could do to ensure i get it by launch date - as per the websites promise. All he has done is sent an email to the warehouse for me to see what they can do - which is probably nothing.
After complining about the billing, he did credit me with a week on my next bill.
But, it doesnt look like anything is being sent out until Friday - which is incredibly frustrating!

We all know why we're so frustrated, O2 mucked up big sending that email out so early, but you have to remember that the phone's are slated for delivery on the 20th.
UKMail operates a Next-Day delivery shceme, which means the phones can be picked up as late as tomorrow, and they'll still be on schedule. Nobody should be fretting that they won't be receiving their order until next week yet, at least not until tomorrow.

Well I have called them and spoke to a nice chap. They still don't have the phones in stock. I explained my woes with their live chat and he apologised. Seems the phone support is great while the live chat people are just useless. That's the joy of outsourcing. I have cancelled my pre-order which wasn't a problem as the phones have not been shipped yet. I will be buying it outright through Sony. Should have done that in the first place, seeing how I work for them. Shame on me!

On the topic of the Z1, if i order this today at 3pm roughly will i still get the free lens?
I see they are subject to stock, so does this mean i can order a Z1 and O2 turn around and say they have run out after i have signed up?
