What data to disable when going abroad

Anonymous
Not applicable

Good afternoon all. I have a Sony Xperia Z2 and I will be going to Greece soon. I will only be using WIFI with TuGo and sending the very occasional text outwith this.

I have turned off Data Roaming but there is also an option showing for Mobile Data. Should this be turned off to and is there anything else I should do to prevent me incurring unwanted charges. I have already ensured the £1.99 per day option has been disabled.

Thank you in advance for any help.

No, but you said "I will only be using WIFI with TuGo and sending the very occasional text outwith this", which I read as only using tugo on wifi, not wanting to send normal sms.
You would need to turn off mobile data completely to ensure no additional charges other than the standard rates sms charge.

I'd put the phone into airplane mode and then turn your wifi on.
That way, only Tugo and wifi will be used and nothing on phone side at all.

Would I still be able to send a text if I was somewhere with no WIFI?

If you don't want to use flight mode just make sure moble data is set to off.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm one of the older generation so easily confused by all this at times. I will probably be travelling to places with no wifi but I will only be sending one or two texts a day to let others know I'm okay. I'll make sure both data roaming and mobile data are disabled.

Thank you for your help.

If you are only sending the odd sms you really need to opt out of O2 Travel otherwise you will be charged £1.99 per day.

EDIT : Rereading I see you have already done so
