Unable to select options when contacting Customer Service

Anonymous
Not applicable

When I ring CS on 4445 I get the options 1 or 2 to continue.

I press either 1 or 2 on my HTC Wildfire screen keypad without effect, ie I am asked the same options again and again.

Using an old Nokia spare with a "proper" keypad I can progress to the next stage without any problem.

Can I do anything to rectify my problem on the HTC?

Any help appreciated by a Septuagenarian

Possibly a factory reset of the phone may work, you'll need to set it up again though.

Please let us know if you manage to resolve this, good luck with it.

Check that you have DTMF tones enabled. Probably somewhere in call settings....

Thank you for your reply

In "Sound Settings" Audible touch tones is ticked

Is this what you refer to?

No, that will just make a sound when you press a number on your phone. It will be an option in call settings and will specifically be DTMF. This is the protocol used to send a code to the remote system to activate the options.

I've got a Wildfire and DTMF just works by default, I've been through all the settings and can't see any way of turning it on and off.

There's nothing in Call settings or Sound settings and I'm sure it can't be turned off.

So it sounds like a fault with the phone to me.

Again thanks for your reply

I had spent some time trying to find DTMF setting, even down loading the HTC Wildfire Manual.

Best regards
