Sony Z2 Sim not working

Hi

 

could anyone tell me if I am doing anything wrong.  I have a Z2 refurbished but it came with no sim holder. I have purchased the holder and the instructions I found are confusing, they say to put the sim face down in the tray and to insert into the phone with the contacts facing the back of the phone.  I did this and the phone restarted but still says no sim card inserted.

Personally I've never heard of selling a phone without a sim tray. That would set alarm bells ringing..

Sounds dodgy to me too.....

True....but in fairness when you buy a phone you do so in good faith and don't dismantle it in the shop to see if it has all important parts included.....(though maybe you should with Brighthouse in future)
