Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet - faulty keyboard

Hi,

I recenlty purchased the above tablet that comes with the keyboard (BKB50). The keyboard is supposed to last for up to a month one a charge for up to 8 hours use a day. However, mine would appear to be faulty as it drains battery like it's going out of fashion.

When it was off this afternoon (I double cheked it was off) after turning it back on 30 minutes later it had last 8% charge so it doesn't appear to be able to hold its charge.

I know as I bought the tablet only a week ago, I can get it replaced. But does anyone know if O2 will want the whole package back (tablet and keyboard) as they come together in one box!? I'd rather not send the tablet back after spending ages getting it set up (it works fine anyway!)

I will try and get hold of O2 tomorrow.

Thanks,
David.

Hi @apdqueen81

I think you will have to speak to O2 to see if they want both items back....

http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

If you bought it instore you would be better to go directly to them with all receipts etc....

Personally it would be far easier for O2 just to swap the keyboard...but you will have to ask

You could also contact Sony too and see if they will offer a replacement.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

I'm never sure whose responsibility it is - the retailer you bought it from or the manufacturer! But yeah, worth a shot if O2 want the whole kit back! Thanks.

It really depends what response you get from O2....it is within the 14 days....but depends on what they have to say I guess?

It's in the original box so they will want the lot back.
Pointless considering its a separate entity but, that's how it is with O2.
My keyboard has none of the drain issues you mention btw so I concur that it sounds faulty.

@apdqueen81 It might be worth updating the keyboard firmware first too, fixed some bugs apparently.
I believe the latest is 1.0.8
Plug your tablet into pc companion to get the O2 latest firmware and the keyboard firmware update is packed with it.

First thing I did was to update it but to no avail!

I'm just speaking to O2 now and they are saying they don't repair accessories and I have to contact Sony. Is that right?!
