The Oreo update is now being rolled out in Germany, Poland and India.

Does O2 have a release date yet?

Thanks all, that worked fine! Gone on XEU but works fine and people say it's pretty much the same as BTU? I'm on GiffGaff so don't need the extra O2 apps and can now set the correct voicemail!

The general consensus is:
BTU firmware is on phones that come directly from Samsung (unbranded)
XEU firmware is on Sim Free handsets that are generic (unbranded) but not from Samsung.
So no difference in real terms.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Update 29 March: Great news - the S8 and Note 8 Oreo updates are now live. If you have an O2 device these should be available to you now. If you got your device from Carphone Warehouse, you're on an 'open market device' - these are not managed by us, but by Samsung directly, but should hopefully be available soon.

I have an update, and it's good news for S8 and Note 8 customers! yahoo

After testing a new S8 build that fixed the issues we discovered during our testing, we're happy to let everyone know that we have today sent our approvals to Samsung and the software is now with them to 'push the button' to release to O2 handsets. Typically this happens within around a week or so, but we are doing what we can to expedite this, so eyes peeled over the coming days.

Note: It's possible that the Note 8 and S8 updates may 'go live' at different times so if you're a Note 8 owner and see an S8 owner get it first (or vice versa), this can happen - but there shouldn't be much of a gap.

Wow takes a week to push a button wink

Thanks for the update on the release, has not changed my views on this experience, it's my 1st and last Samsung with O2, the update process is appalling, so is the lack of communication to O2 customers.
