Mine is rooted and running a custom rom.

The International S3 has the update to 4.3 now but the o2 version hasn't had it releases yet.

If your csc is o2u you need to hang on a while longer.

When you have a keyboard on screen pull down the notification bar and select "Input Method". You can choose which keyboard you want from there.

I read just read on some American forums that the keyboard problem is inherent in the 4.3 update.

I had 4.3 long ago and am now on 4.4. Still have a choice of keyboards so I'm not sure whats wrong.
Have you done a reset after updating?
Other options are to download another keyboard off Google Play.

Excuse me for slightly derailing the subject, but how did you get your update? I'm still on 4.1.2 and when I check for updates it says I have the latest ones installed. I've got an S3.
