Samsung Galaxy S2 - Calendar notifications issue

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I've been having problems with the calendar reminder notifications on my Samsung Galaxy S2. It was working fine, but in the last month or so it has stopped working properly.

9 times out of 10 the reminder does not go off (no sound or "pop up" notification").

I do as follows: Go to calendar - choose the date I want to set reminder for (for example November 28 - enter time for the event (for example 07:15-08:15) - Time zone is set to GMT +0:00 (I am based in London) - Calendar is set to My Calendar - Repeat: none - Reminders: On time

The notification settings are set to alert and to vibrate always.

Any suggestions on how can I fix this issue?

Could be a bug in the firmware - are you both on the same versions? Other than that try clearing all the calendar app data in settings >applications

Can not say I use the calendar on mine. You say it used to work?

What apps or app updates have you had since then?

Hi Cicerone,

I'm afraid I can't remember which apps I've downloaded since the calendar notifications stopped working. I've probably updated most of the apps (I don't have a huge amount) since then, but as I can't even remember when exactly the notfications stopped working properly it's really difficult to say what aps I've downloaded or updated. 😞 Sorry, but I'm not the most tech savvy person. slight_smile

I was quite surprised that I couldn't find a thread about this problem. My husband is having the same problem and surely we can't be the only ones!
