Phone wont charge

My boyfriend has got a HTC desire(i think) and it doesn't seem to want to charge,he will leave it on all night and it will still be on like 10% battery.I know the light comes on which mean's it's charging but nothing.Can someone tell me what's up with it please?

Faulty battery? Faulty charger? Faulty phone ? You need to try a different charger then a different battery then if still no good send phone in for repair....

I know he has tried different charger's and he has had his phone for ages but all of a sudden it has started doing that,would it be worth buying a new battery to see?

Try a new battery first if that doesn't work, send it directly to htc for repair, don't send it to o2's repair service

he has only got this HTC cos his Iphone broke,so he doesn't want to spend a lot of money sending it to get repaired.But thank you,i will tell tell him to try a new battery.
