Hi guys, I hope you can help me. I have a Samsung android with a PAYG sim.
When at home, I can connect to the Wifif and send wattsapp msg, etc with no problems.
However, when I am away from home, and even if I am connected to another wifi, I cannot sent wattsapp messages, not surf the net. Nor can I receive msgs. The notification bar shows that wifi is connected.
I tried a few things at home:
- turned off the wifi - couldn't send/receive wattsapp
- sent an ACTIVE text to 2020 and got a message back which I clicked and so in theory my settings should
now all be fine. Restarted phone but still no luck.
For ref, in my Settings > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names the option that has the green dot against it is 'O2 Prepay GPRS'.
My Mobile Data and Data Roaming option are both ticked.
Would really appreciate your help!
Harry

Have you recently changed anything on your account such as the tariff? Check the bolt ons you have in My O2.

Check if there are any issues with the network in your area http://status.o2.co.uk/ and when connected to public wifi hotspots you need to open your web browser to login to the hotspot.

Thanks for the reply guys.
I have not changed anything in my tarriff. I have no bolt-ons.
The network in my area is good as per http://status.o2.co.uk/ and I have 4 bars on my phone right now with the Wi-fi turned OFF and mobile data turned ON.
When I try to connect to a web-page (eg www.bbc.co.uk) I get "You are offline" message.
Most frustrating 😞

At this stage I would set up a new APN then reboot the phone and try again.
