Note 4 camera motion blur

Anonymous

Hi all. Long time reader first time poster!

I currently have a Lumia 1020 which I got for the camera. I have 2 young kids and wanted to get lots of great photos of them. I have found however now I use my phone more as tablet as well as the family camera. To that end next month I was going to change for a Note 4. Best of both worlds - or so I thought. During my research I have read a few posts of people saying that fast moving photos of kids playing don't come out at all well. Faces and background just blur. Can anyone comment on the use of the Note 4 camera when taking photos of kids running round? My wife has the galaxy s5 and I haven't been that impressed with it, even using the sport mode etc.

Many thanks for any insight or feedback.

Sadly they are too big to upload but they are indoor shots, no flash and everything set on auto.

They have all come out fine and only one shows a slight blur but the kid is way in the distance......

I wasn't over impressed with the S5 camera but the Note 4 is superb.
I've got some pics of the kids at a nerf party so I'll go find them for you......

Many thanks for replies so quickly. The model numbers don't mean much to me tbh. But it sounds like you are saying it will be fine. Many thanks for describing your photos mi5. I like you used your settings on auto, as there is nothing worse than faffing around with settings just because you have walked inside or outside etc. I know the Lumia 1020 has a strong camera and I do use it as a point and shoot which is what I am looking for in the Note 4.

I will go into the phone shop with my 2 year old daughter and try it out on her as she runs about.

Its interesting all the camera reviews are done on static objects or nice scenery, not manic toddlers running around!!

lol I know what speed 2 yr olds can move at but joking aside you will love the Note 4.
It has even taken over my tablet for general browsing because the screen is so good.....
I usually get bored with my phones after 6 months but I can see this one lasting 8 months at least.... or until the S6 comes out, maybe wink

Apologies, IMX240 is the note 4 sensor which replaces ISOCELL sensor found in the Galaxy s5
