Its 3 months old. No screen protector or anti virus. It started a few days ago with a dead patch on the touch screen when using Chrome. Now today its like its posessed, opening apps and swiping through things, zooming in and out. I have it next to me right now after restarting it and its opening apps ive never even used before. I have upgraded to the latest software and its not helped, turned it off and on, reset.
I am really regretting switching from iphone to android, this is so annoying!

It is best if you back up the phone using Xperia companion and then either take your phone into an o2 store for a repair, or a more recommended route is to go to http://support.sonymobile.com/gb/
And select your xz device, then book in a repair.
The process should be relatively quick as it's a modular display with the digitizer flex embedded within the unit.
Take some screenshot of the dead area using the diagnostic app in settings, about phone and store them for if the engineers request further info.
Hopefully and I'm sure, you'll be able to come back here soon and say it's all sorted.

If a factory reset doesn't fix it then contact Sony and get it repaired under the warranty.
