phone power button wont turn off screen but acts as if its held down and this causes phone to random

As title suggests im using a pixel fold and yesterday my phone randomly shut off asnd the power button wouldnt function now i can have it work but every so often my power button wont turn the screen off itll act as though the hold press has been actioned but this will sometimes cause my phone to crash and restart
