Value of phone with damaged screen

Anonymous
Not applicable

So during the Christmas period I had a bit of an over-active dance with my kids (there was no booze involved on the part of me, honest) during one of their discos. Unfortunately my beautiful and relatively new Nexus 6P took a nose dive out of my pocket, hit the ground with a thud and since then my screen has been wrecked with nothing appearing onscreen at all. The phone is still working apart from that as the fingerprint unlock still causes the familiar buzz when I unlock it.

There is a value of £252 left on my contract.

My phone has a value of £135 according to the O2 upgrade page.

The cose of fixing my phone is too expensive for me to afford.

Therefore I was wondering does the £135 value still hold weight despite the damage to the handset? I was going to use that to bring down the remaining cost of the contract allowing me to pay the full balance off quicker so I can get a new phone.

Thoughts?

@Anonymous  You'd probably be better off looking to see what you could get for the phone through CEX rather than O2. https://uk.webuy.com/

Hi @Anonymous I very much doubt a damaged phone will have the same value as that shown to upgrade....

Pretty worthless as a non working device.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

Any valuation is given to a phone in average working condition with no superficial damage. Any estimate is invariably knocked down so as it stands your phone is virtually worthless if left to the whims of Recycle.

Cex don't take damaged phones as far as I'm aware, best bet might be to reset the phone if you can via a PC then sell it for spares or repairs on eBay.
