Just confirming...The latest OFFICIAL firmware upgrade for GT-I9100 is available via Kies from today for O2 devices

Latest firmware version: PDA:LSD/PHONE:LS8/CSC:LS7 (O2U)

Ps. just wondering what "LSD" stands for wink ...

Because this is an O2 update (O2U) not XEU.

I've actually just been able to get an OTA update, has downloaded and is currently installing so hopefully there'll be no issues!

I also have the XEU version of ICS installed (but that's just what came up on my Kies when ICS was released... but my phone was always on O2 contract).
Does this mean I can't update to JB?

No, it just means you don't get this update. Yours will come later......

Oh... but since my phone is on O2, is there no way to get this? I just checked, and XEU is apparently the release for Ireland - I'm based in London, and bought my O2 contract from Phones4U, so why did I get the XEU version?

Thanks for the quick reply, by the way 😃

XEU is the generic Samsung unbranded firmware. Phones bought from P4U, CPW etc will all carry the generic firmware. You can flash the O2 version if you want but that will include all the O2 bloatware and most likely not function as well as the generic firmware.....
