Hotmail on Samsung Galaxy S2

Anonymous
Not applicable

HI

Before I begin I'm not great with technology and help would be greatly appreciated.  I have a samsung galaxy s2 which was updated this morning. Since then, when I have tried to install hotmail, I'm getting a message that I'm using an incorrect user name/ password.  It is definitely correct because I've double checked it on my computer. When I downloaded the hotmail app, it won't load because of the server settings.  I've tried to reset all the details and taken out the battery but nothing is helping.

Would anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Elmo16 and Welcome to the 02 Community Forum,

Sorry to learn of your issues with the Hotmail Settings.

Would you like to click on the link i've added to see if this helps at all.

If you have checked and re checked everything then the following may be a last avenue of choice.

Hard resetting your phone may help but you must perform a back-up first as the process can delete your data.

Here are the instructions on how to carry this out if you so wish at your own discretion.

  1. From the main home screen, tap menu
  2. Tap Settings, then Privacy
  3. Tap Factory data reset
  4. Tap Reset phone
  5. Enter your password if required, then tap Erase everything to confirm

If that doesn't work, or if your phone is frozen:

  1. Turn the power off. If your Samsung Galaxy S II is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
  2. Hold the Volume Down button
  3. Press and release the Power button
  4. You are now presented with a menu that allows for Fastbook, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock
  5. Select Clear Storage by pressing the Volume Down button
  6. Press and release the Power button
  7. Now simply confirm your decision: Volume Up for YES and Volume Down for NO
