Re: HTC One X Jelly Bean update - any news

o2 sell the new htc one x+ with jelly bean already installed and all this is is a one x with a slightly faster processor, so why can't o2 just update the the one x with jelly bean as it must have been tested on the one x+.

Re: HTC One X Jelly Bean update - any news

Slightly different hardware in the One X+ and it shipped with Jelly Bean from day one as far as I know. If HTC only started shipping the update to the UK last week for unbranded and O2 have begun rollout now then that's pretty good going.

Re: HTC One X Jelly Bean update - any news

This is getting a little silly. Had an email back from htc saying its up to o2 to even debrand the phone as well, never had this problem in Febuary when i was still cpw o2, i was then forced over at o2 request as they want all the contracts under there name, and nothing but problems since!

Re: HTC One X Jelly Bean update - any news

I just wish that o2 would just stop lying. They said it was released on the 27th and no-one has it. They blamed it on  HTC but now i just spoke to a so called guru it was their fault and it is their responsibilty. this is the last time i ever buy from o2 again. liars.

Re: HTC One X Jelly Bean update - any news

You have been connected to Eleanor.
Eleanor:  Hi Carl, thank you for contacting HTC Support, I am looking in to your query now.
Carl:  Thanks
Eleanor:  I understand you are having issues with finding out when HTC One X Jelly Bean has been released.
Eleanor:  I am very sorry however we do not have this information, you will need to speak to O2 with regards.
Carl:  That's right. O2 are giving very conflicting statements.
Carl:  So O2 are responsible for pushing the update to their branded handsets?
Eleanor:  Yes they are.
Carl:  Ok. They're stating that they handed it back to you after their internal tests and that HTC are responsible for updating our phones.
Carl:  Many people are very angry about O2 lack of transparency regarding this.
Eleanor:  Okay, HTC push out unbranded devices. With branded devices, we send it to the network, they choose if and when to send this out.
Carl:  Do you have an official statement on your site anywhere I could point O2 to?
Carl:  Sorry, I'm not meaning to sound like im having a go at you.
Eleanor:  Not a problem at all. I am afraid we do not.
Carl: Ok. Would it be ok to use your statement above?
Eleanor:  If you wish, yes.
Carl:  Ok. Thanks.

Matt: Wondering if there is any news on Jelly Bean update for branded o2 handsets
Matt: Particulaly HTC ONE X
Vinnie: Yes, we have an update for jelly bean for One X

Matt: Do you know when will be available for me to download
Vinnie: Are you using wifi right now?

Matt: not at the moment i'm not, i'm at work
Vinnie: Alright, Once you're in a wifi area, Please go to Menu > Settings > About > Software Updates > Check now

Matt: Ok
Matt: How long has this been available for, as was checking up until 2pm.
Matt: Also will it still show me the update is available if I check using 3G
Vinnie: No, You need to be in a wifi zone to be able to see the update.

Matt: Ok I will check that later.
Vinnie: Alright.

Vinnie: Is there anything else I can help you with?

Matt: Is this update for your o2 branded htc one x handsets?
Vinnie: Yes, It is.

Matt: And just to check when was it released?
Vinnie: It is available from 27 December 2012.

Matt: But I've been checking daily from christmas eve and still nothing
Vinnie: You can try this with wifi today and get back to us if that doesn't works.

Matt: Thats been the issue for days now being told its available when its not there
Matt: The last chat i had with you guys they told me 27th was date for unbranded handsets
Vinnie: Please try connecting your phone to HTC sync on your PC and then try to update.

Matt: So would that work?
Matt: I was under the impression that it can only be done OTA
Vinnie: Yes, It should. If not you can get your phone to any of your nearest o2 store and we would check that for you.

Matt: Check what?
Vinnie: Yes, Ideally it can be done OTA.

Vinnie: Check your phone*

Matt: Bye

So now I'm really confused, is it available or not?

If any can check using wi fi and let me know but i'm not holding my breath!
