HTC One X Jelly Bean update - any news

Anonymous
Not applicable

Any idea when the HTC Jelly Bean update will be released for the One X?

I understand the forthcoming HTC One X+, listed as an October release on coming soon, will come with Jelly Bean already installed, does this mean other HTC Handsets should get the update a bit quicker, as I assume all the "testing" that O2 normally do on updates will already have been carried out for the new handset.

o2 sell the new htc one x+ with jelly bean already installed and all this is is a one x with a slightly faster processor, so why can't o2 just update the the one x with jelly bean as it must have been tested on the one x+.

Slightly different hardware in the One X+ and it shipped with Jelly Bean from day one as far as I know. If HTC only started shipping the update to the UK last week for unbranded and O2 have begun rollout now then that's pretty good going.

This is getting a little silly. Had an email back from htc saying its up to o2 to even debrand the phone as well, never had this problem in Febuary when i was still cpw o2, i was then forced over at o2 request as they want all the contracts under there name, and nothing but problems since!

I just wish that o2 would just stop lying. They said it was released on the 27th and no-one has it. They blamed it on  HTC but now i just spoke to a so called guru it was their fault and it is their responsibilty. this is the last time i ever buy from o2 again. liars.

You have been connected to Eleanor.
Eleanor:  Hi Carl, thank you for contacting HTC Support, I am looking in to your query now.
Carl:  Thanks
Eleanor:  I understand you are having issues with finding out when HTC One X Jelly Bean has been released.
Eleanor:  I am very sorry however we do not have this information, you will need to speak to O2 with regards.
Carl:  That's right. O2 are giving very conflicting statements.
Carl:  So O2 are responsible for pushing the update to their branded handsets?
Eleanor:  Yes they are.
Carl:  Ok. They're stating that they handed it back to you after their internal tests and that HTC are responsible for updating our phones.
Carl:  Many people are very angry about O2 lack of transparency regarding this.
Eleanor:  Okay, HTC push out unbranded devices. With branded devices, we send it to the network, they choose if and when to send this out.
Carl:  Do you have an official statement on your site anywhere I could point O2 to?
Carl:  Sorry, I'm not meaning to sound like im having a go at you.
Eleanor:  Not a problem at all. I am afraid we do not.
Carl: Ok. Would it be ok to use your statement above?
Eleanor:  If you wish, yes.
Carl:  Ok. Thanks.
