How's that for a snazzy title? 😉

You heard me though, the latest KitKat w/ Sense 6.0 update is on it's way and rolling out across Europe, and should be hitting the UK soon. Once I get a heads up that it's available, i'll give everyone a little shout-out here but you too can keep your eyes peeled on the latest info here, direct from the horses mouth so to speak > http://www.htc.com/uk/go/htc-software-updates/

You can also check out the updates and changes that you'll notice once you upgrade from Sense 5.5 to 6 here > http://www.htc.com/us/go/sense-6-update/

Fan of HTC's Sense? Looking forward to the update?

This update has essentially killed my M7!!!

Extreme power saving causes the device to revert everything back to factory defaults when it comes out of it.

Battery life is terrible (4 hrs for 70% battery usage with power saving on and only 15 minutes screen time on lowest brightness!)

Bluetooth connectivity to the car takes 3 times longer than it did before and drops connection frequently.

WiFi and cellular data connections are worse than they have ever been!

This is after 2 factory resets and clearing the cache using the bootloader menu.

I highly recommend that nobody update if their device is running Sense 5.5 fine.

My M7 was working perfectly until the Sense6 update and HTC are not being any help at all regarding it even though the M7 was a replacement for the 2 previous handsets I had that their repair centre failed to repair each time they were sent away!

I have to say that mine is fine and showing none of those problems at all.....
If your problems persist you have the right to keep on pestering O2 or HTC for resolution.
It sounds like it needs reflashing which O2 can do for you quickly (2-3 day turnround)....

I downloaded the update and installed it fine, but when my wife's update downloaded, it didnt install.

now when she chooses "search for updates" it tells her there are none available.

How can she get her phone to re attempt the download? (or install it, if its somewhere on her phone already)

Cheers,

G

It may require a factory reset.
It shouldn't be too painful if your HTC backup programme is enabled.....
