Emoji/Emoticons - Chargeable?

Hi,

I'm sure that this has been covered elsewhere, but I can't seem to find a conclusive answer.

Are the built-in emoji/emoticons (like the ones below) on Android charged as MMS when used in a text message? i.e. Do I get charged for every text I send with an Emoji in it?

I can't see any recent charges on my account to suggest that they are, but there are various discussions on the forum which would suggest that they are counted as MMS when used in a text..

Ta slight_smile

I don't care what rank I am and neither should anyone else.

Some are chargeable and others aren't.

Just to add. I have a Note 3 and I did my own test on this last week. The emoticons on screen when typing a message take up 90 characters for the first one. Each subsequent emoticon in the SAME message only takes up 2 characters each...

I've literally just read that @Cleoriff, thanks.

I'm going to assume that I'd be pretty safe, as I only ever usually send one emoticon with a text, so even if it converts that to 90 characters I still wouldn't go over the SMS character limit most of the time slight_smile

Of course, I could have just stuck with my iPhone, used iMessage and been able to send whatever the hell I wanted to another iDevice user without getting charged.... But hey ho wink

Easy to be certain by just ticking the box in message setting and you will get a warning both visual and auidiable when a text converts to mms.
