Can't receive text messages on Galaxy S20

Getting very frustrated now with my new Galaxy S20 5G. I am able to make and receive phone calls and send texts but I'm not receiving any texts... Which means I can't finish setting up my apps as a lot of them want to text me codes. I've googled for hours and tried everything I can find with no success. I tried phoning O2 but I can't get talking to anyone because it wasn't deemed urgent enough.

 

So far I have:

Restarted the phone (several times)

Updated the software

Removed the sim

Cleared the message cache

Triple checked the message centre number

 

Anybody any suggestions as to where I go from here? Any help much appreciated

If you have just ported or transferred your number, texting is the last of the services to be provisioned

If so then it's a matter of waiting whilst rebooting your phone at regular intervals

It can take 24 hours to complete

 

If You need to call O2 then choose any of the options, fraud etc
Everything is taking longer due to the lockdown. Call centres and social distancing means limited staff to handle all the queries. Patience needed I'm afraid.

I wondered if it was because I had just transferred my sim but assumed that if I can send texts I should be able to receive them? Will give it another few hours and see... Thanks for the advice

I am also having this problem.

 

Took the S20 Ultra out of the box about 24 hours ago, used the SIM that came with it and ported my number over fine right away. I can make and receive calls and use the 4G or WiFi for Internet and could do right away.

 

I can't receive texts, however.

 

I have done the following:

I have the very same issue only my S20 is the 4G model. If anything it's reassuring to me that it isn't just the 4G models that are affected.

 

It is really affecting me badly as not able to receive 2FA texts or finish setting up some apps like yourself. It is also quite irritating because we can send them. So there must be an issue at O2's end.

 

Anyone, any updates today?
