Android 4.4 KIT KAT

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi All,

new version of Android Kitkat should roll out and will be available for couple new phones.

HTC One, S Galaxy S4, Nexus 4, 7 . and couple other. There wont be big changes, but should be faster and main thing save the battery. Does any one know more when we will get it?

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if I was to decide to install a BTU firmware on my S4, would I be okay backing up using Kies beforehand and then restoring all my data after upgrading or would that cause issues?

Shouldn't have any problem with that - just make sure you have the latest version of Kies installed.

Can I just ask a silly question here re Kies? @MI5 you say about using the latest version?

Will that not be dependent on whether the phone is branded to a certain network? (or something else)

I seem to remember (and I could be wrong here) that when both my husband and myself updated our S3's

I used one version of Kies and he had to use another?

If you're phone has been updated to 4.3 you need to use the latest version Kies 3.

That wasn't the case with us. It was prior to doing our updates to 4.3....and I am sure we had to use different

versions of Kies?

IIRC Ray had to use Odin to update his phone but I don't remember you discussing Kies to make back ups....?

Yes, of course you are correct with that. Though I am sure we had an issue with Kies (in that he had to

download 2 versions)

OK..so brain stretching here then...tell me if there is ANY reason why different versions of Kies would need

to be used before you updated to 4.3 on two S3's (One locked to O2 and the other sim free when bought)

If you say yes...then that would at least give me an explanation Confused

Ok ok ok...sooooo...I will go and shake my brain a bit...pfffftttt Crazy

Seriously, thanks for that.

Thinking about it again, he probably had to update our version of Kies before we upgraded BOTH phones?

Please tell me that makes sense? Thinking
