Accessing voicemail from another phone without code

Anonymous
Not applicable

My phone is broke! the sim was cut down to fit the Galaxy S3 and I can't get it to work in a replacement phone, how can I access my voicemail messages from another phone or landline? I've read that I need a code/default code but I never set one, I can't text whatever the number is as the phone doesn't work and I'm struggling to find my box of tricks with the instructions etc that came with the phone! It's regarding a job offer and some idiot dropped her phone, they have got my landline but just in case. These are desperate times I don't want to risk it! Thank you slight_smile

The default code for O2 voicemail is 8705, I'm not sure if you need to call from your original handset/sim to change it though, so it may not work.

You could get a sim from an O2 shop and they will switch your number to it.

To access your VM from a landline just dial your own number and press * when you get the answerphone kick in. You should have been asked to set a PIN when you first used VM on your phone but the default PIN is 8705 so you could try that first.

I thought you had to change from the default 8705 on the phone itself before you could access it from a landline or other phone.

Not sure if you can set up the pin from a landline as it isn't quite clear:

How do I change my voicemail PIN?

Having a PIN means that you're the only person who can access your messages. You'll be asked to set up your PIN the first time you access Voicemail 901 or whenever it's been reset to the default.

You can change your PIN at any time by:

- Dialling 901

- Pressing * for greetings and mailbox settings and then 4

- Following the prompts

Your PIN also allows you to access your messages from any touchtone phone by:

- Calling your O2 mobile number

- Interrupting your greeting by pressing *

- Entering your PIN
