Q: Where’s the best place to find the latest info about the iPhone 5 on O2?
A: Check out http://j.mp/iPhone5O2 for all the latest information.
Q: How much does iPhone 5 cost?
A: You can have a look at our tariffs and prices for iPhone 5 at http://j.mp/iPhone5O2
Q: Will you be taking pre-orders for the iPhone 5?
A: Yes, you can pre-order iPhone 5 on O2 but stock is limited, so be quick.

Q: Which tariffs will the iPhone 5 be available on if I grab one from a store?
A: The iPhone 5 will be available on our On & On 24-months tariff as well as the £63 per month tariff over 24 months.
Q: Is it available on 12 or 18 month tariffs?
A: the iPhone 5 is only available on 24 month tariffs.
Q: I’m at the end of my 12 month Simplicity contract. Can I upgrade to iPhone 5 online?
A: Yes, if you are at the end of your contract, you can upgrade to iPhone 5 with online pre-order or on launch day as long as we have the phone in stock.
Q: I’m on 12 month Simplicity but still in contract. Can I upgrade early and get iPhone 5?
A: If you signed up to the special offer £20 a month On & On Simplicity, you’ll need to wait until after 6 months. All other Simplicity customers still in contract will need to go to an O2 retail shop on launch day, Friday 21 September. You will not be able to upgrade online.

A: It depends on the result of your last credit check. If you don’t see the option to pre-order via o2.co.uk/upgrade give us a call.
Q: Why are your Retail store iPhone 5 prices different to your Online/Telesales prices?
A: When you buy iPhone from O2’s website or through our call centres you will be buying it from Carphone Warehouse (O2 will be acting as an agent for Carphone Warehouse). Sorry - I know this is going to sound really, really thick - but I have query you good folks might be able to clear up for me. I ordered my iPhone 5 yesterday and the order confirmation says it will be delivered within 3 weeks or something. The opening post of this thread however; states quite clearly that all orders received by 4pm the day before launch (I make that tomorrow September 20) will be delivered on the launch day.
Now call me a doubting Thomas but will o2 really really be able to ship squillions of new phones out to everyone on Friday? Do the majority of us on this board believe that to be the case?

Thanks Andrew. Is that the official line then - are o2 saying that pre-orders will start on Friday but take a few weeks to fulfil in their entirety? If that is the case then I suggest the opening post be updated as many upgraders might read that and go no further.
If that aspect is inaccurate then I am also concerned what else might in fact not be true - so for example will a nano sim actually be included in the box? I have read conflicting suggestions on this.

I don't understand why some people get so upset about others queuing up.
Why waste your life sleeping?
Exactly! A couple of jumpers and a camp chair and I'm sorted!
However the look on my other half's face wasn't the look of joy... However the lure of a McD's breakfast swayed it...

Hi Memzey,
If you bought/upgraded to the iPhone 5 via O2 then it will come with a nano sim in the package. Some people are getting a nano sim from stores if 1) buying their phone elsewhere or 2) wanting to do their sim swap early thinking there may be issues on the day with 10 billion people sim swapping on the day..
Some of the posters on here have quoted stores saying there is an abundance of sims available!
Hope that helps! Feel free to correct me anyone - but I'm sure thats what I've been reading.. But maybe iPhone fever has got to me!

Hi EnMacc - Thank you for your update.
Sorry to do this to you but I have a number of questions that come to mind and I'd really appreciate your answers if you have the time to proffer them:
Did you receive these details via an email or some other media?
Is the tracking number different to the order number you were issued when you placed your order?
What is the dispatch date you have been given and when did you place your order?

Osnail - thanks for the reply - very illuminating.
One point does strike me though - if people are swapping sims early to avoid the rush, that assumes pre-orders being fulfilled on Friday (the rush) but in posts above we are lead to believe that is in fact not going to be the case. It would be good if someone from o2 could provide definitive advice one way or the other.

hey buddy
no email...i just checked the status of my order through the 'my o2' page.
The tracking number is different but currently useless. It doesnt actually track anything right now. This i assume is normal. it didnt track my last iPhone until it actually made it into the country. I assume my phone is leaving china at the mo.
Dispatch date is todays (19th) but gives no details on actual delivery time. I placed my order about 8.30pm on the day of pre-orders.
hope this gives you some insight into whats happening with yours
